OK so I'm a bad blogger. I decided to do a progress-type thing on here for my new large painting I'm working on. It was supposed to be for my parents for an "art party" they were having but I broke my ankle just after I started it so I never finished it in time. I only had one previous session on it. It's somewhat inspired by Fried Green Tomatos...kind of the olden days feel when people made their own preserves and families were close and money was tight.

This morning, after I dropped my husband off at the train station and Zoey off at doggy daycare (don't judge me) I came home...and normally when id go back to bed for an hour or so, I decided to try and get some more work done on this painting.

It's 30 by 30, which is the same size as the revolver painting... and it's huge. I think the hardest part is going to be getting the wall and shadow to look right...since it's so much empty space with smooth color.

This is after session #2 and the photo im working from. I know I should be working from life, but working in the spare room isn't a good place to have a still life set up when you have people coming over all the time and a broken leg. Plus I've never been one to follow the rules...so why should I start now?

I love it! I love Mason jars, I definitely want to paint one at some point. This is going to be awesome - can't wait to see the finished piece!

That's really awesome! I thought it was a photo at first because it's no realistic looking!
