Monday Monday Monday

The Foundry Show this weekend was so much fun! Don;t forget, it's also going on next weekend as well.

I sold a couple items that needed a good home, and then I came home to see this painting sold. It's one of my favorite Three Trees and was pretty unique since it's very difficult to get the antique ledger paper to cooperate with the varnish. Very fitting for this season :D

I love the background on this. I do a lot of paintings with old paper glued down on canvas as well. I use acrylic gel medium to do that. What do you use? just curious? any tips?

Congratulations on your sales! Your work is remarkable, and I really like the one you posted today. It works on so many levels: technique, concept, design ...

I use the varnish I normally use to finish off the painting with. I find it's easier to paint on top of rather than something like Modge Podge. I should try that Acrylic gel medium

Thanks Julie. I'm always trying to learn new techniques and tips to solve art problems.

Julie,

Hi! I worked side by side with you at the Foundry for a whole day and didn't even realize that you were the person who painted the cool key painting that my wife and I bought on opening night. I'm like an idiot! Anyway, your stuff totally rocks. In fact, your paintings make my stupid penguin paintings look like crap. Good job!

Congratulations on having a fun show and making some sales. I think this is my favorite of you Three Trees series. Good luck at next weekends show. I hope you make many more sales.

I recommend trying acrylic medium or acrylic medium gel for gluing paper to the canvas. I think once you try it you won't want to go back. -Don
