Another experiment on Wood. This painting composition/image is one I plan on doing at 24 by 24.... but not sure what colors I want to use. Michael Huack from the Foundry Show made this piece of wood for me to do some tests on. Wood is A LOT different to use acrylics on. It forces you to slow down and not get too hasty. While the wood soaks up some of the water and causes it to dry faster...its not dry enough to immediately put another layer on.
I'll have to do some more experiments with it.
I am also taking a Maritime painting class at RISD this coming weekend, so I'll hopefully have a whole slew of new stuff and techniques.

That's quite a tape job. Very nice.
Very cool! I've never painted on unprimed wood, so I don't know how oils would respond, but I'm sure it would be way different. Anyway, it looks awesome!
