Completed painting: Skeleton Key

this key has been sitting unfinished for months. Happy to have it off my to do list. It was probably the hardest one due to the size. (That's what she said.) You see so much more detail. The colors came out pretty neat since I was wearing a green shirt when i took the reference photo. Up close it has a rainbow of colors. 6 in. by 12 in

This is probably going to be the last skeleton key painting I do for a long time. I started them 2 years ago (way before it was trendy) and I'm pretty tired of doing them. Also, no more buttons.

You are the master of trompe l'oeil!! I didn't even know it was a painting at first.

I zoomed in. Fascinating.
No more buttons? No more keys? Looking at the highlights in the brass and the reflected color made me think old jewelry and what a brilliant Beck painting it would be.

Wonderfully done! You're right, the colors are great. Maybe you should have different color shirts ready for your next reference photo shoot...

Bummer, I guess my original comment got lost in the etherworld.

This is spectacular. Your work is so good.

Maybe you should consider having several shirts ready to go with your next reference photo shoot...
