Academy of Realist Art: Still not done

All my hopes and dreams were smashed to the ground last Wednesday, when I thought FOR SURE, I was done with this. Then Cindy, head master of all that is realist, came over and gave me 4 areas to work on. This is a the way of the Academy.... just when you think there is not one point off on the whole thing, they come over and show you how far off you really are. So today, I will get my hopes up again. I'll let you know how it goes...

It can be maddening because you stare and stare and stare and fudge and shmudge and fuss and eat candy and stare and talk about random stuff and stare and complain and stare and stare. Then they point out one things and you're like "HOW DID I NOT SEE THAT?!?!?"

All joking aside, I am really amazed at the progress I've made here so far. I can already tell my paintings at home are better because of the past 2 or so months.

Academy of Realist Art: 2 months in

Words can not express how much I love going to the Academy. We laugh, we cry, we Bargue... it's the way life goes there. My Bargue #1 is almost complete... the halftones are seriously a joy to work in since it always feels like I'm making more progress each day. Here is where I am at after this week:


It has taken about 2 months to do this Bargue which they say is about normal... although it has FELT very slow.

Wednesday we had to say goodbye to one of the students because she was going off for medical reasons. It was a full house and we had cake and champagne... which apparently used up all my weight-watchers points. Totally worth it! Here is a little peak into daily life at the school.
