OK so I know it doesn't look like I made much progress, but I spent about 2-3 hours on the window in the upper left hand corner.

Normally when I do a painting, I end up doing the main focus/most important part of the painting I did with the train. Then I spend the rest of the time trying to work out a surrounding and inevitably makes completeing the painting harder since I dont want to screw up how I perfected it. Plus, I get all excited about the main focus that I end up with creative block for the rest of it.

So this time around I'm trying something different. I'm doing the background and surrounding areas first before I get to the main focus. I have a feeling it's going to be easier to finish this way.

Not to mention trying to create a realistic wood grain while trying to avoid painting over something thats already done would be a pain in the ass.
