This painting was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. The wood grain, the color or the stapler... it was all very difficult. It took me 3 or 4 times just to get the stapler color. But here we are... done. The original reference photo for this was done by SugarPush on Etsy... her products and photos are beautiful!
you can see a couple stages of this painting here:
Stage 1
and here:
Stage 3
I didn't happen to take any progress shots in between because frankly... I forgot. Whoops! In the end, I'm not 100% happy with it, but I need to move on. Hope you enjoy it!
Also, as usual, the title comes from a great Mike Doughty song called American Car.

It looks amazing Julie!
Very slick; Strong Work!
Stunning stapler! Two words I would never thing to use together. The retro color with the warm wood works magic!
It's so interesting to hear other artists say which pieces they like and which ones they're not as happy with, because this is one of my favorite paintings of yours!! Awesome colors and great perspective. So life-like.
This is freakin' SWEET! You rocked this stapler, big time. I agree with Suz about your colors.

Julie, you did an amazing job. I'm so honoured that you used one of my product shots for your artistic endeavor.
